Garage Living was invited this year to participate in The Yorkville Exotic Car Show on Father’s Day in support of men’s prostate cancer. Honoured to be invited, we gladly accepted and set out to find an interesting and unique way to display our high quality products.
The Challenge
How could we make an impact in the City of Toronto amidst the powerful vehicles that will gather on one street at one time? How can we show attendees what we can do while making it memorable and fun? Our tent had to reflect the high quality of our products, our work ethic and turnkey solutions while providing a welcoming feeling of functionality that showcases the perfect design and flawless installation of our organization products.
Our Solution
In order to meet these challenges, we created the Garage Living Pop-Up Garage: a 10×20 foot, fully customized tent that could open in minutes to reveal its impressive size and create an environment resembling the interior of a coach-style garage.
Having partnered with Pfaff Automobiles and McLaren Toronto in the past, we reached out to them again and they offered a Volcano Yellow McLaren Spa F for our showcase. Named after the Grand Prix track in Belgium where Bruce McLaren won his first race in a McLaren Spa, Francorchamps, this beauty of a car features a carbon fiber P1 inspired rear bumper, a 3.8L Twin Turbo engine, and a double clutch paddle shift transmission.
The Father’s Day Event
With the car positioned perfectly on the tiled area, we assembled the pop-up garage tent around it. On the interior walls of the tent were photographs of our various storage solutions. Along the back wall we featured our Garage Living Premium Cabinetry while the surrounding walls featured sports items such as tennis rackets basketballs, and a bike and helmet shown using slat wall accessories. On the exterior wall was a stone base with stucco upper, coach lights, and an address.
The floor was made of Garage Living PVC Interlocking Tiles in a pearl silver metallic color in the center area and with a slate coloured border and an anti-tripping transition strip around the perimeter. These interlocking tiles snap together easily and can be installed without adhesives or mortar for a beautiful and finished appearance.
The Father’s Day Event was beautifully sunny and warm with over 15,000 visitors in attendance. Onlookers were in awe of the sight and sound of the spectacular vehicle in our Pop-Up Garage and the powerful car conjured much applause and appreciation from the crowd with its dramatic revs and thundering departure from the Garage Living Pop-Up Garage.
